In this present age of disconnection between man and his environment, wherenatural resources are threatened by man's blatant disregard of the world around him, the path of Ilmu is a vital method for bringing harmony and healing as well as an understanding of how the natural resources provided by the environment can harmonise, complement and resonate with the natural resources of the human mind, body and spirit.Ilmu is an ancient path of knowledge, born, developed and preserved amongst the indigenous peoples of Southeast Asia. This knowledge reflects the collective experiences of the people who lived on the Shores of the Indian Ocean and the South China Seas, on the rivers and waterways, in the jungles, forests and mountains of the lands that are now Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. For centuries this art has been practised by adepts living in the small kampong (village) communities, serving those around them as teachers, counsellors, therapists, and guardians of the mental, physical and spiritual health of all those who sought them out.
