Job Overview:

The Business Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the veterinary practice, including managing staff, financial operations, client relations, and ensuring compliance with veterinary regulations. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of veterinary practice management.

Key Responsibilities:

– Operational Management:
– Oversee daily operations to ensure the practice runs smoothly and efficiently.
– Develop and implement standard operating procedures to improve operational efficiency.
– Ensure the practice complies with all veterinary regulations and standards.

– Financial Management:
– Prepare and manage the practice’s budget, including forecasting and financial planning.
– Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
– Oversee billing, invoicing, and accounts receivable/payable processes.
– Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making.

– Human Resources:
– Recruit, hire, and train support staff and ensure adequate staffing levels.
– Manage employee schedules, payroll, and benefits administration.
– Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development.
– Foster a positive and productive work environment.

– Client Relations:
– Ensure exceptional customer service and address client concerns and complaints.
– Oversee client communication, including appointment scheduling and follow-ups.
– Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain clients.

– Marketing and Business Development:
– Develop and execute marketing plans to promote the practice and increase client base.
– Manage online presence, including the practice website and social media platforms.
– Identify opportunities for growth and expansion of services.

– Facility Management:
– Ensure the practice’s facilities are well-maintained, clean, and safe.
– Oversee the procurement and maintenance of medical and office equipment.
– Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. (A degree in Veterinary Medicine or a related field is a plus.)
– Relevant certifications in veterinary practice management (e.g., CVPM) are highly desirable.
