Job Title: Maintenance Officer

Location: Oniru, Lagos

Job Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Officer to oversee the upkeep and functionality of residential properties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs to ensure all facilities remain in excellent working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment, including generators, DSTV, internet, electrical systems (switches and sockets), kitchen appliances (microwave, oven), septic systems, water supply, waste disposal, solar panels, inverters, etc.
  • Plan and carry out regular visits to properties to identify maintenance needs and organize preventive maintenance activities.
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance of machines, equipment, and structures (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
  • Engage, source, and supervise contractors for professional repairs when required.
  • Issue job orders and contract tenders to external contractors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality within budget constraints.
  • Ensure that all contractors comply with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Liaise with staff and residents regarding property maintenance, addressing resident concerns, repair requests, and property alterations.
  • Inspect vacant properties, assess necessary repairs, and coordinate maintenance before new occupancy.
  • Prepare and present maintenance reports during meetings, including service updates and recommendations.
  • Oversee fumigation, septic evacuation, and water treatment services as needed.
  • Conduct inspections of properties within the company’s portfolio.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports on maintenance activities.
  • Monitor diesel procurement and usage in managed facilities, ensuring proper administration and reporting monthly.

Requirements:

  • Education: OND in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 2 – 4 years in maintenance, facility management, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general repair work.
  • Ability to assess maintenance needs and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in managing contractors and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
